Product Safety Information
Blue & Bear home fragrance products are a delightful way to fragrance your surroundings and enjoy the soothing qualities of our essential oil blends. However, individuals with perfume sensitivities should exercise caution when using these products.
As with any aromatherapy product, it is recommended that you seek advice before use if you are pregnant, on medication, or have specific medical conditions that contraindicate the use of essential oils.
Please see below for additional safety information specific to each product type.

Safety Instructions
Botanical Palettes
Hanging Precautions: Always keep your Botanical Palette out of reach of children and pets, even when hung. Do not use it in vehicles, as heat buildup can cause the palette to melt. To prolong its fragrance and prevent softening or damage, avoid placing it in direct sunlight, near strong heat sources, or in draughty areas. If placing the palette inside a drawer, linen cupboard, or wardrobe, always use the muslin bag provided to prevent direct contact with fabrics, which could stain or absorb oils.
Melting Precautions: Melt your Blue & Bear Botanical Palette on an appropriate burner designed for this purpose. Ensure that the burner is placed on a flat, heat-resistant surface and is kept out of reach of children and pets. Never leave the burner unattended while it is in use.
Heat Management: Our Botanical Palettes require heat to release the warm-throw fragrance, so it's important to follow safety guidelines. For electric burners, plug them in and switch them on to heat the wax. For non-electric burners, use a tea light candle and ensure the flame is extinguished before leaving the room or going to sleep. We recommend using 4hr tea lights rather than 8hr.
Fire Safety: Keep the burner away from flammable objects such as furniture, bedding, and curtains. Ensure the wax pool is clear of any debris, including matches or flammable decorations, to prevent fire hazards.
Handling Hot Wax: Molten wax can cause burns, so avoid direct contact with skin. Allow the wax to cool and solidify completely before moving the burner. Never use metal objects to clean out the wax, as they can cause damage.
Ventilation: Place the burner in a well-ventilated area to allow the fragrance to circulate effectively. Avoid placing it near drafts, which can affect the performance of the Botanical Palette.
By following these safety tips, you can enjoy the delightful scents of Blue & Bear Botanical Palettes while ensuring a safe environment for everyone.

Safety Instructions
Reed Diffusers
Setup: Remove the metal cap from your Blue & Bear Reed Difffuser bottle, insert the reeds, and turn them daily for the first week. Be cautious of oil drips, keep out of direct sunlight, and wash hands after handling. Remember, the oils are flammable—never light the reeds.
Placement: Position your Reed Diffuser in a well-ventilated, cool, draft-free area, away from children, pets, and electrical equipment. Allow 1-2 days for the fragrance to fill the space.
Scent Throw: For a delicate aroma in small spaces, start with 3-4 rattan reeds. For stronger diffusion, use 5-6. If the scent is too intense, reduce the number of reeds. If it's too faint, flip the reeds more frequently.
Rattan Reeds: The porous nature of rattan reeds means dust and other contaminants can partly or wholly clog them over time, causing diffusion to reduce. If this happens, all you need to do is replace the old reeds with new ones to enjoy your favourite scent once again.
Precautions: Those with perfume sensitivities or specific medical conditions should seek advice before use. Perform a patch test to check for allergic reactions. Discontinue use if irritation occurs.
Maintenance: Clean the diffuser regularly to avoid residue buildup. Reuse the container with our eco-friendly refills.
By following these guidelines, you can safely enjoy the benefits of your Blue & Bear Reed Diffuser.

Safety Instructions
Pure Essential Oils
Usage Guidelines: Blue & Bear Pure Essential Oils are highly concentrated plant extracts. They should always be used diluted and with care. Never apply undiluted oils directly to skin. Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes, and broken skin. Not intended for internal use.
Aromatherapy & Diffusers: Add 5–7 drops to an oil burner or diffuser filled with water. Use in a well-ventilated space and follow your device’s instructions. Never exceed the recommended amount - essential oils are potent and just a few drops are enough.
Topical Use: Always dilute essential oils with a suitable carrier oil before applying to the skin. For massage, use up to 5 drops in 10ml of carrier oil. For skincare, blend 1–2 drops into your chosen base product. Always perform a patch test prior to use and discontinue if irritation occurs.
Bathing: Add 6–8 drops to warm bathwater after running the tap, and swirl to disperse. Do not use essential oils in hot tubs or whirlpools.
Potpourri: Add a few drops to potpourri or other unscented decorations for a natural fragrance boost.
Sensitive Groups: Not all essential oils are safe during pregnancy or while breastfeeding. Please consult a qualified professional before use. Some oils can be harmful to pets, especially cats and dogs. Always check compatibility and use with caution in shared spaces.
Storage & Safety: Essential oils are flammable. Keep away from open flames and high heat. Store upright in a cool, dark place with the lid tightly closed. Keep out of reach of children and pets at all times.
Sustainability Note: We’re committed to sourcing our oils responsibly, in alignment with Blue & Bear’s eco-conscious values. To reduce waste, please reuse or recycle your bottle wherever possible.
By following these safety tips, you can enjoy the natural power of Blue & Bear Pure Essential Oil Blends - safely, mindfully, and sustainably.

Oil & Wax Burners
Proper Use: Place your ceramic burner on a flat, heat-resistant surface before adding wax or essential oil. Add your Botanical Palette or a few drops of essential oil (diluted with water) to the top dish. Ensure the burner is positioned away from children, pets, and flammable materials.
Tea Light Safety: Always use a 4-hour, unscented tealight candle—never 8-hour or larger tealights, as they burn too hot and may cause the burner to overheat or crack. Do not leave the candle unattended, and extinguish the flame before leaving the room or going to sleep.
Heat Management: Allow your burner to cool completely before touching, refilling, or cleaning. Never move the burner while in use, and avoid placing it near draughts or open windows that may cause uneven heating or pose a fire risk.
Ventilation: Use in a well-ventilated area to allow fragrance to circulate and to avoid the build-up of fumes. Never use in enclosed or poorly ventilated spaces.
Wax & Oil Handling: Molten wax and hot water can cause burns—take care when handling. Do not add water or oil to wax once melted, and never pour hot wax or water down the drain. Clean the dish only when fully cooled and solidified.
Cleaning & Maintenance: Remove cooled wax by gently warming the base just enough to lift it out—avoid scraping or using sharp objects that could damage the burner. Clean with warm, soapy water and dry thoroughly before reuse.
By following these simple safety steps, you can enjoy your Blue & Bear burner with confidence and peace of mind.
